Panasonic’s Elk Grove repair facility has had two tries at repairing this recorder, and has failed each time. Incredibly, the device distorts the video signal from older VHS tapes — even when the tapes are playing on ANOTHER machine and the signal is merely being passed through the EZ48! Panasonic’s repair facility was sent a demo tape, color printouts of distorted still frames and a detailed letter — and still was unable to fix it!! Now they want me to send it back a third time with ANOTHER demo tape. This defective machine was purchased from B&H in SEPTEMBER and as of 12/9/08 has yet to produce a single good DVD from my archival tapes. I want a refund. — Cal Deal — Work order 91-055177-00
